Shopping

Right so one of the hardest things about living on my own is my weekly shop. This is because I never know what I fancy that week to eat; I always over buy and most super markets cater for families.

As soon as I got my student finance I worked out I had a whopping £97 a week so I said to myself £20 a week for shopping should be fine and it was for me but everyone is different. Josh my roommate shops for 10 days and spends £60 on shopping. Here's what I tent to buy every week

1) Cheese!- I love cheese I spend around £1-£2 a week on it. Ice is very good for cheese and sandwich food.

2)Chocolate- now I tent to buy a box or packet of biscuits every week and never eat them all so I know have a good variety

3) flavored water- at asda I buy 4 bottles for £1.50 and they are great because there's tons to choose from.

4) Meat- probably the biggest and most expensive but usually at Iceland I can get chicken breasts, bacon, and beef for £6- £8

5) Fruit and veg- it's good to keep healthy at uni so I normally get a big salad that lasts around a week from Asda and cost me £1,50 it goes great on sandwiches, jacket potatoes and chicken.

6) frozen foods- burgers, chips, jacket spud and this will take me to my budget.

Don't get me wrong, I'll change what I buy sometimes because  still have food from the week before left.

TIP: See if your roommate likes similar food me and Emma both share milk and bread so we take it in turns buying it

Also don't forget about toiletries I didn't add them in because I usually by them once every 14-20 days spend around £5 on toothpaste, shower gel, face wash, face wipes, hair products and toilet roll.
